Braces & Invisalign at Dunwoody Dental

This post on Invisalign is part of our 16-part mini-series of video interviews. We hope you enjoy these and please share them with your family and friends!

Dr. Amy Mosseri:

Braces move your teeth that are in the wrong position. It helps correct your bite which can lead to jaw and muscle problems. Teeth in the wrong position can also lead to breaking teeth and gum disease. So the benefit of having braces in our practice is to line up teeth both for cosmetic reasons but also for health reasons.

A lot of 13-year-olds get braces because that’s the ideal age. But some adults didn’t get that benefit when they were a kid so now we offer Invisalign, which are clear plastic aligners that are virtually invisible. It allows them to get the benefit of straight teeth without having to wear braces.

Dr. Minta Lopez-Torres:

Invisalign is great for orthodontic relapses and smaller movements of teeth. Braces are better when we’re trying to move molars and make significant movement in the bit.

Dr. Amy Mosseri:

I had one woman who had one tooth that was sticking out in the front. It bothered her to no end. She was in her 50s and decided it was time to start doing something about it. Pretty quickly the tooth started moving and you can tell that it changed her life.
